The most common treatment for a labral tear is traditional open surgery. This involves making a large incision to expose the bones and soft tissues in your hip.
This type of surgery usually is recommended if your labral tear is large, your hip is unstable and at risk for dislocation or you still have symptoms after six months of treatment without surgery.
In some cases, certain labral tears can be treated athroscopically. Your Cedars-Sinai orthopedic surgeon can advise you about whether this is an option in your case.
