Osteotomy

Osteotomy is a surgical procedure to cut away part of a bone to realign a joint, reduce pain and increase freedom of movement.

It is a procedure that is used to treat arthritis. It is a procedure best suited for situations where a relative small area of bone is affected.

It relieves pain and preserves your own joint. It does, however, require a long-time for rehabilitation. The underlying condition (such as arthritis) is not cured by the procedure; the problem can return.
