Exam information sheets provide a patient with a quick overview of their procedure.
Each sheet explains:
- What the procedure is. This is a very brief section giving a quick overview of the procedure.
- What the patient should do before coming in for the exam, and if he/she needs to bring anything specific to the procedure. Any dietary restrictions are discussed here, as is whether it is necessary to bring in prior films or their medications.
- The pre-exam procedure and what will happen prior to the actual exam taking place.
- What will actually happen during the exam. This can include whether or not the patient will receive an injection, body positioning for scanning, or the length of the exam.
- Any after-exam requirements, i.e., if the patient will not be allowed to drive home afterwards, or must stay for a brief period of observation. It also explains to a patient how he/she will receive the results and how to order a copy of the films or a specific report.
- Finally, there are directions to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center including information on where to park or drop off.
