Mari Madsen, MD

Attending Surgeon, Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery

Mari Madsen, MD is an attending surgeon in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Dr. Madsen is board certified in general surgery and colorectal surgery. Her specific areas of interest include laparoscopy, colon and rectal cancer, and fecal incontinence.

Dr. Madsen has co-authored numerous articles for peer-reviewed publications, including Functional Outcome after Restorative Proctocolectomy with Ileal J-pouch: Comparison of Manometric Findings and Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery: Early and Later Experience. Her research has been presented on both national and international levels.

Dr. Madsen received her bachelor's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, where she also served as class president and president of the student counsel. She completed her general surgery residency at Emory University Hospitals in Atlanta, Georgia and her colorectal surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida.
