Orthopaedic Oncology Program

The Orthopaedic Oncology Program at the Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedic Center focuses on the treatment of bone and soft tissue tumors, including cancers that have spread from other sites such as the lung, breast, prostate, kidney or thyroid.

Under the direction of
Earl W. Brien, MD, the Orthopaedic Oncology Program provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of malignant and benign bone and soft tissue tumors.

Diagnostic and evaluation services provide expertise in distinguishing between tumors and metabolic diseases such as Paget's or osteoporosis, which may present symptoms similar to those of tumors. Orthopaedic oncologists at Cedars-Sinai provide diagnostic expertise in distinguishing between the more than 300 variations of benign and malignant soft tissue tumors that affect children and adults.

As a part of Cedars-Sinai's
Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute, the Orthopaedic Oncology Program provides access to a full range of cancer treatment services. The conditions treated at the Orthopaedic Oncology Program at Cedars-Sinai include:
