Robotic Surgery and the Future of Heart Surgery

Robotic surgery is now a reality at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for some heart surgeries. A robotic device can be used to assist the surgeons in doing some of the minimally invasive surgeries, such as valve repair and replacements and simple bypass surgeries.

The evolution to ward increasingly successfully and increasingly lower risk procedures will continue as new techniques are developed. The future holds many promises for the treatment of heart disease. Our surgeons and cardiologists will stay at the forefront of those treatments.
