The road to childbirth and parenting is full of challenges and changes - physically, emotionally and socially. The more you know before your baby is born, the better prepared you will be.
Expectant parents are invited to take a tour of the Cedars-Sinai Maternity Center. Our tour is a wonderful opportunity to become acquainted with our facility and services, as well as to meet our Medical Center Staff. A telephone reservation is required.
At Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, you can take advantage of a complete series of interesting and informative classes. No other medical center in the Los Angeles area offers as many childbirth and parenting classes as we do. All expectant parents are invited to attend our classes, even if you are not having your baby at Cedars-Sinai.
We offer a variety of classes on the following subjects:
- Cesarean Birth
- Labor Pain Relief
- Prepared Childbirth Series
- Refresher Childbirth: Second Time Around
- Vaginal Birth after Cesarean (VBAC)

Please make checks payable to CSMC Prenatal Education. Registration payments that are not mailed or delivered in person must be made with a credit card. For updates on our new and exciting classes, call (310) 423-5168.
Discounted parking is provided for all classes and programs. Because class sizes are limited, advance registration is required. A confirmation letter with the date, time and location of our classes, as well as parking information, will be mailed to you within two weeks of receiving your registration. If you do not receive a response by this time, call (310) 423-5168.
Please do not bring additional children or guests to any of the programs unless otherwise specified.
Refund requests must be received at least seven days prior to the start date of the class. Once the Prepared Childbirth Series classes have begun, refund requests will be honored only when a medical problem prevents you from attending the classes. A written note from your doctor must accompany the request. Your refund will be prorated based on the number of classes you have attended. A non-refundable processing fee of $25 applies for the Prepared Childbirth Series and a $10 fee for other classes. Please allow six to eight weeks for all refunds.
Whenever possible, the staff will attempt to place you in a Prepared Childbirth Series make-up class if you are unable to attend one of the classes in your series. Classes may be rescheduled one time without a fee, as long as the request is made 48 hours prior to the start date. All future reschedules will carry a $10 processing fee. Prenatal Education reserves the right to cancel courses due to low enrollment. If the class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be able to attend another session of the same class at no additional charge or receive full refund of the course fee.
