Adult Volunteers

Adult volunteers derive a great deal of satisfaction from performing their duties at the Medical Center. Whether providing patients with companionship, bringing them reading material or helping them with simple tasks, the volunteers' efforts are inevitably met with sincere, heartfelt appreciation. Our adult volunteers also help round out the staff at Cedars-Sinai by performing clerical duties or assisting in the various departments.

To become an adult volunteer, simply fill out the adult application* from the Volunteer Services Department. After we have reviewed your application, you will be invited to an interview to help find the best match for your particular abilities and interests. Once you have been accepted, you will be asked to provide a health clearance from Employee Health Services, along with the results of a recent tuberculin skin test and documentation of your immunization history, including measles, mumps, rubella and chicken pox.

You will also be required to attend a four-hour general volunteer orientation, which will help prepare you to assume your role as a Cedars-Sinai volunteer. The orientation is held twice each month, with times determined once you have been accepted.

For more information, please call Volunteer Services at (310) 423-5231.
