The Executive Medical Services program offers advanced, state-of-the-art clinical care to international and other corporate executives and their families in the Greater Los Angeles area. The goal of the Executive Medical Services program is to provide the highest level of care with particular sensitivity to the needs and concerns of top corporate executives.

The program tailors examinations that best fit the client's personal and occupational needs, including age, gender and ethnicity. Recognizing time constraints placed on executives, the program can be completed in one day. However, for more extensive evaluations, clients should allow three days. Return or follow-up visits, as well as specialized consultations with a variety of specialists, can be arranged as needed.

All executive packages use leading-edge diagnostic procedures and technology. Each includes a comprehensive medical history and physical examination conducted by a board-certified physician. The examination may include:

• A full range of preventive screening tests for early detection and diagnosis of heart and lung disease, cancer, diabetes and other serious medical problems
• A variety of laboratory tests, depending on the selected executive package
  
• Lifestyle assessment for nutrition, exercise, weight control, stress management, alcohol and tobacco use as well as personal safety, depending on the selected package and the executive's specific concerns
  

Cedars-Sinai's Executive Medical Services staff is dedicated to providing the best medical care possible. Staff will assist clients in selecting a program that meets their specific needs. The following packages are offered to assist in this process:

Standard Executive Package is geared toward the 30 to 40-year-old professional and includes:

• Comprehensive medical history and physical examination (including pelvic exam with pap for women)
• Hearing test (audiometry)
• Electrocardiogram (EKG)
• Laboratory tests, including complete blood count (CBC); comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP) to study electrolytes, kidney and liver functions, and to measure glucose for diabetes; cholesterol screening (lipid profile); and urinalysis; and thyroid test (TSH)
• Pulmonary function test
• Electrocardiogram (EKG)
  
• Imaging tests, including chest X-ray, electron beam CT scan (early detection of heart disease) and abdominal ultrasound
  

Comprehensive Executive Packages are extensive evaluations designed for the executive whose activities may include traveling abroad. In this package, immunization are updated, and early detection of disease and evalutation of health status are the main emphasis. If applicable, travel-health needs are also addressed using the most up-to-date Centers for Disease Control travel-health guidelines. This package focuses on professionals who are 40+ years and includes:

• Comprehensive medical history and physical examination (including pelvic exam with pap for women)
• Test to detect glaucoma (tonometry)
• Hearing test (audiometry)
• Electrocardiogram (EKG)
• Laboratory tests, including complete blood count (CBC); comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP) to study electrolytes, kidney and liver functions, and to measure glucose for diabetes; cholesterol screening (lipid profile); urinalysis; blood test to measure the amount of iron in the body (ferritin); blood test for serious peptic ulcer disease (H-Pylori) and prostate cancer (PSA); female hormone assessment (for women concerned with menopause); confidential blood test for Hepatitis A, B and C; and thyroid test (TSH)
• Pulmonary function test measuring respiratory status (spirometry)
• Imaging tests, including chest X-ray, electron beam CT scan (early detection of heart disease) and abdominal ultrasound, mammogram, osteoporosis and stroke
  
• Immunizations, including flu shot, tetanus, and Tuberculosis skin test (PPD)
  

AVAILABLE AT ADDITIONAL COST:

• Examination of the lower part of the colon and rectum to detect polyps and early cancer (flexible sigmoidoscopy)
• Immunizations against diphtheria, polio, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR).

A summary report of the findings and recommendations is provided to the executive. All medical information is confidential. If an executive plans (or is required) to share the results of the evaluation with the employer, a special report can be generated once appropriate permission is obtained.
