Piotr Slomka, PhD

Research Scientist; Perfusion Analysis, Image Registration, Multimodality Fusion

Piotr Slomka, PhD is a research scientist with the Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Program. Dr. Slomka is also an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) David Geffen School of Medicine.

Dr. Slomka is widely recognized as one of the leading contributors in the world to the area of research in software algorithms for medical image analysis. His current focus is in the development of automated computer algorithms for myocardial perfusion quantification and multimodality image registration.

Dr. Slomka has written or co-written numerous papers for peer-reviewed journals. He has presented lectures, both nationally and internationally. He has received numerous awards from a variety of professional organizations and is a scientific reviewer for several leading journals.

Dr. Slomka received his doctorate in medical biophysics from the University of Western Ontario in Canada and his master's degree in medical instrumentation from the Warsaw University of Technology in Poland.
