Children's HEALTH Referral and Information Service

In partnership with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and the Division of Community Child Health, Cedars-Sinai's Department of Pediatrics is addressing the issue of children's access to healthcare insurance programs and primary care providers.

The Children's HEALTH (Health Enables All Learning to Happen) program also provides advocacy services to ensure that proper care is offered at school and in the community for children with unmet health needs.

A team that includes a pediatrician, mental health clinician and case manager is stationed at four elementary schools serving children of low-income families. The team helps parents find primary care providers for their children, attempts to enroll children in health insurance programs and evaluates children who have physical, developmental, behavioral, dental or mental health problems that may be interfering with learning. Children's HEALTH professionals have invested thousands of hours in service to hundreds of families, providing health education, advocacy and consultation.
