Sijian Wang, MD, PhD is a pathologist in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai. Dr. Wang specializes in genitourinary pathology.
Dr. Wang's research activities have included the application of molecular genetics to experimental therapeutics in cancer and diabetes and assessment of new biomarkers in surgical pathology. He received patents for human pancreatic endocrine precursor cell lines.
Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, Dr. Wang has presented his research at various national meetings and has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is actively involved with resident teaching in autopsy and genitourinary pathology.
Dr. Wang received his medical degree from Beijing Medical University and his doctorate in cancer pharmacology from Roswell Park Cancer Institute, State University of New York at Buffalo, where he was awarded a presidential fellowship. He completed a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, followed by a surgical pathology fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
