Stephen Lee, MD

Director, Clinical Pathology; hematology, immunology

Stephen Lee, MD is Director of Clinical Pathology and Co-Director of Hematology / Hematopathology and Immunology in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai. Dr. Lee is also Clinical Professor of Pathology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Dr. Lee has held several key leadership positions in the clinical laboratory at Cedars-Sinai, and he is Director of the Hematology Fellowship Program. His primary areas of research interests involve microsatellite instability and contrast enhancement for imaging procedures. He developed a nationally regarded postgraduate flow cytometry course, which has been active for more than 15 years.

Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, hematology and immunology, Dr. Lee is an active member of numerous professional societies. He has written more than 50 articles for peer-reviewed publications, and he has authored book chapters for Immunology: VIth International Symposium and Image Analysis.

Dr. Lee received his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco. He completed an internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles and began a residency in pathology at UCLA Medical Center. He completed his pathology residency at Mount Sinai Hospital.
