Denise Barbuto, MD, PhD
Pathologist; gynecologic pathology
Dr. Barbuto is a pathologist and leads the gynecologic pathology team in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai.
Board certified in anatomic pathology, Dr. Barbuto is recognized as an expert in the study of gynecologic pathology. She actively collaborates with the Gilda Radner Cancer Detection Program at Cedars-Sinai in research in the field of gynecologic oncology. She is a member of many professional societies.
Dr. Barbuto received her doctorate in experimental pathology from the University of San Francisco and her medical degree from the University of Connecticut. She completed a pathology residency at Yale University and the Yale-New Haven Hospital, where she was also a fellow in surgical pathology and a clinical fellow in gynecologic pathology.
