Hematopathology Fellowship

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine offers a one-year fellowship in hematopathology. The Hematology Laboratory performs a large volume of tests, including extensive special coagulation and special hematology procedures. There is abundant hematopathology material with over 1,100 bone marrow samples and adult and pediatric lymphoma cases occurring each year. Training includes extensive experience in flow cytometry, immunophenotyping, immunoperoxidase techniques and molecular biology. The program is affiliated with the hematopathology program at the UCLA School of Medicine.

To qualify as a fellow for this program, candidates must have completed four to five years of AP and CP in an approved residency program or three years of clinical pathology residency. California licensure is required at the time of appointment. Stipends are commensurate with the applicant's year of postgraduate training.
