Research is a major component of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center's mission, and the Cardiac Imaging Research Team is dedicated to fighting heart disease by developing powerful new methods that can recognize at-risk individuals and evaluate atherosclerosis years or even decades before catastrophic events can occur.
The following are our current research studies and clinical trials:
- Study 1: Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Community
Research involving over 2,000 men and women investigating whether a particular combination of assessments can predict future clinical outcomes in patients who have had no symptoms of coronary artery disease or other heart disease. - Study 2: Patients with Nuclear Cardiology Studies
Research involving over 1,000 men and women investing whether the information from a cardiac CT scan adds value to the information from nuclear cardiology studies in helping doctors make decisions about medical care.
- CT-STAT
A clinical study comparing the safety, diagnostic efficacy and efficiency of multi-slice computed tomography to the standard of care treatment of low to intermediate risk acute chest pain patients in the Emergency Department.
