Avrom Gart, MD

Director, Pain Management and Rehabilitation

Avrom Gart, MD is Director of Pain Management and Rehabilitation. Dr. Gart is also an assistant clinical professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Recognized by the state's Worker's Compensation Board as an Independent Medical Examiner (IME) and Qualified Medical Examiner (QME), Dr. Gart serves an advisor to the Educational Committee of the International Spine Intervention Society and is a member of the nonprofit Physicians for Social Responsibility. He is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine and American Academy of Pain Management.

Dr. Gart has written articles for publication in medical journals and made presentations before both professional and public organizations. He is currently involved in clinical research investigating minimally invasive spinal surgical procedures. He is a member of numerous professional societies, including the International Spine Intervention Society, International Association for the Study of Pain, American Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Pain Society, American Back Society and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Dr. Gart received his bachelor's degree from Creighton University and his medical degree from State University of New York at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. After an internship in general medicine at Staten Island Hospital, he completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at New York University Medical Center's Bellevue Hospital, where he received the Resident's Research Award from the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He then completed a fellowship in pain management at UCLA Medical Center.
