Training Opportunities

Because science, medicine, patient care and technology are changing at an ever-faster pace, Cedars-Sinai is committed to offering its employees training on an ongoing basis. Training is provided at every level of the organization and in every service area. This training is generally offered without charge to employees and at a choice of times and days.

Nursing

Nurses at Cedars-Sinai stay up to date in patient care through ongoing nursing education programs sponsored by the Cedars-Sinai Institute for Professional Nursing. In addition, they receive extensive quality and customer service training through the Quality Initiative Program. Nurses are regularly informed of system changes implemented by the Patient Care Council.

In 2004 Cedars-Sinai was re-awarded the Magnet Excellence in Nursing designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Cedars-Sinai is one of only seven organizations in the state to achieve this status, which recognizes commitment to nursing development and quality care. In 2000 Cedars-Sinai became the first medical center in Southern California to receive Magnet designation. The ANCC found that Cedars-Sinai's nursing services "represent the highest standards in the nation and internationally."

Computer Education

To help employees work more efficiently, prepare for new job assignments and stay up to date on the latest software, Cedars-Sinai offers computer training. Classes are taught by experts and are held during working hours with a choice of days and times, as well as a variety of experience levels.
