Benefits

Cedars-Sinai offers a complete package of benefits to meet the needs of today's employees.

Cedars-Sinai career employees who work 20 or more hours a week are eligible for medical, dental, life, accident and long-term disability benefits.

Below is a summary that highlights the key benefits offered at Cedars-Sinai. These benefits packages may change at any time. Benefit plan documents always take precedence over this or any other list.

Retirement Benefits

Cedars-Sinai has put a progressive retirement benefits program in place that is designed to give employees their choice of retirement benefits plans. We are one of a very few employers in the United States that offers its employees a choice of retirement options to best meet employee needs.

Our employees have a choice of either a Defined Contribution Plan or a Defined Benefit Plan.

  • Defined Contribution Plan - Cedars-Sinai deposits a contribution in a Defined Contribution Plan Account each quarter. The amount of contribution depends upon years of eligible service and pay. This plan pays a lump sum benefit when the employee ends his/her employment.

  • Defined Benefit Plan - This plan pays a monthly benefit amount for the employee's lifetime when he or she retires. This benefit is based on the pay that the employee receives from Cedars-Sinai while participating in this plan and the employee's age when he or she starts receiving it.

In addition to either the Defined Contribution Plan or Defined Benefit Plan, we offer a Tax Sheltered Annuity Plan.
  • Tax-Sheltered Annuity Plan - The 403(b) plan is a retirement savings plan that offers employees the opportunity to save and invest their money on a pre-tax basis. Cedars-Sinai matches a percentage of employee contributions to the 403(b) up to a maximum based on a percentage of employee pay. The match is only for eligible employees. Financial advisors are on site to assist with financial planning and investment strategy.
Paid Time Off

The primary paid time off benefit account is used for personal time off, such as vacation, holiday, personal needs and short-term illness.

Eligible employees who lose members of their immediate family may take up to three days of paid bereavement leave.

Extended Sick Leave

Eligible employees earn up to six extended sick leave days per year.

Insurance
  • Health and Dental Insurance - Group health insurance plans are available for eligible employees, their spouses or domestic partners, and dependent children. The Healthcare Premium Payment Plan allows employees to pay their portion of health and dental premiums on a pre-tax basis.

  • Life and Accident Insurance - Eligible employees are covered by a group term life insurance policy and a group accidental death and dismemberment policy paid by Cedars-Sinai.

  • Voluntary Life and Accident Insurance - Group term life and accident insurance is available to eligible employees, their spouses and dependent children. The employee pays for coverage.

  • Long-Term Disability Insurance - Group long-term disability insurance is available to employees to protect against the loss of salary or wages if they should become disabled.

Credit Union

For employee ease and convenience, the on-site Cedars-Sinai Federal Credit Union offers many services, such as savings accounts, and investment and loan options.

Employee Assistance Program

The Work 'n' Life Matters Program provides support, resources and education to help employees be their best at work and at home. Services are free and strictly private.

Childcare Resource Service

Our customized childcare resource program provides referrals to quality childcare, public or private schools, choosing the best care for your child and planning for childcare emergencies. Childcare and parent information packets and a parenting library are also available. Employees may talk with a parenting specialist, who can help with many types of needs including planning for a maternity leave.

Parking

Secured parking is available for employees. Monthly fees vary depending on parking location.

Tuition Reimbursement

For those wishing to finish their education or pursue more training, Cedars-Sinai reimburses for expenses for education and training in healthcare careers.

Direct Deposit

As a convenience and so that funds are immediately available, payroll checks can be deposited directly into your bank account.

Employee Discounts

Open three days a week, the Recreation Connection offers employees discount tickets to movies, theme parks, baseball games, theater, ski lifts and trips at its office located on the street level of the South Tower near the visitor elevators.

Employee Referral Program

Employees who refer friends to Cedars-Sinai can earn significant bonuses if those candidates are hired as a result of the referrals. Bonus amounts depend on the positions filled.

Rideshare Incentives

To help create cleaner air, lighter traffic and less crowded parking structures, Cedars-Sinai makes various offers to encourage employees to ride to work with co-workers.
