Xiuqing Guo, PhD is Assistant Director of Mathematical Genetics at Cedars-Sinai's Medical Genetics Institute. Dr. Guo is also an assistant professor of pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She previously served as a research assistant professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago.
Dr. Guo has conducted research in methodology development for genetic study design and linkage analysis. She has also researched statistical genetic analysis, including commingling, segregation, linkage and association analyses of complex diseases (such as hypertension, diabetes and obesity). With Dr. Robert Elston, Dr. Guo developed two-stage global search designs for linkage studies that are well recognized and have been further extended by other investigators into two-stage designs for association studies and for group sequential sampling.
Dr. Guo received her bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Beijing Normal University in China. She earned her master's degree in biostatistics from Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans and her doctorate degree in biostatistics and genetic epidemiology from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
