Each day, our volunteers can be seen throughout the Medical Center campus touching the lives of both patients and professionals alike. They not only provide an added measure of personal care for patients, they also assume non-traditional volunteer roles by supplementing and complementing professional services.

Starting from a small corps of only 50 volunteers in 1976, the Cedars-Sinai Volunteer Department has grown to an enthusiastic group of over 2000 today. Each year, our volunteers donate nearly a quarter-million hours of their lives. From serving the community, to working in our Helping Hand Gift Shop, to performing more than 400 different assignments throughout the medical center, each volunteer is an unsung hero who touches the lives of countless people every day.
