Caring for Our Community

Cedars-Sinai serves a community that is diverse in culture, ethnicity, age and socioeconomic status. As a nonprofit medical center, Cedars-Sinai is dedicated to providing quality medical care, research and outreach services to meet the needs of all those we serve. These include those particularly vulnerable populations who have great need and limited resources and access.

Cedars-Sinai's commitment to helping our community grow stronger and healthier is clearly expressed in our mission statement. And those words are strongly supported through our actions in the community. In fiscal year 2007, for example, Cedars-Sinai provided approximately 75 community benefit programs and a total allocation of nearly $268 million, a significant sum by any measure.

Those dollars, coupled with the caring and compassionate efforts of our dedicated staff, are making a difference to many people in a variety of ways. We offer health screenings and preventive health services, flu and pneumococcal vaccines, support groups, youth development programs and much more.

At Cedars-Sinai, we are proud of all of our accomplishments that benefit our community, particularly when we see the impact we are having on individuals and families. This is what motivates us to continue our work of improving the status of good health in our community, and to find new and innovative ways to accomplish even more.
