Dr. Carangal obtained her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She received her bachelor's degree (magna cum laude) from the Loyola College of Maryland. She was chief resident at the University of Maryland and VA Hospitals. Her internship and residency were completed at the University of Maryland Hospital/Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
