The Division of Neurology works in collaboration with the Department of Neurosurgery and the Department of Rehabilitation to offer a full array of services to neurological patients.

Cedars-Sinai's Division of Neurology offers state-of-the-art diagnostic technologies to precisely identify neurologic disorders. These innovative techniques can create clear scans of the brain and the spinal cord to measure:

  • Blood flow through the brain
  • Brain and body responses to stimuli
  • Electrical activity in the brain and muscles
  • How well individual nerves conduct electrical impulses to muscles

The Division of Neurology is also actively researching neurologic conditions to find better diagnostic and treatment methods. The division is investigating the causes and development of neurodegenerative disorders and the roles that genes may play in brain tumors, epilepsy, muscle disorders and attention deficit disorder. For more than a decade the division's Rose Moss Neurogenetics Laboratory has received continuous funding from the National Institutes of Health for its neurologic research.
