Electrogastrography

Electrogastrography (EGG) is used to diagnose and study stomach rhythm. Disturbances in the stomach's pacemaker can produce nausea and vomiting.

To prepare for this study:
  • Do not eat or drink anything after midnight (If you are diabetic, please talk to your physician)
  • You may take medications two hours before the study with sips of water
  • You may brush your teeth
