Bernstein Test (Esophageal Acid Perfusion Test)
The Bernstein test helps to determine if chest or back pain is coming from the esophagus or acid reflux.
To prepare for this study:
- Do not eat or drink anything after midnight (If you are diabetic, please talk to your physician)
- You may take medication two hours prior to the study with sips of water
- You may brush your teeth
