Cedars-Sinai's Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology provides programs and services to promptly diagnose, treat, support and provide follow-up care for children with cancer and blood disorders. The division treats approximately 500 young hospital patients every year. The Ahmanson Pediatric Center provides state-of-the-art treatment in an environment specially designed for children and their families.
The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology staff handles 2,500 outpatient and 1,000 inpatient visits annually. In most cases, a complete range of services is available to children on an outpatient basis at the Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Highly skilled and compassionate pediatric specialists provide the latest diagnostic procedures and medical services available. Our medical team is affiliated with the Children's Cancer Group, an organization at the leading edge of current cancer treatments for children in the United States.
Psychosocial staff members offer family assessment, education and supportive care to help children and their families adjust to the diagnosis and adapt to an often long course of treatment.
Founded in 1975 in memory of Amie-Karen Goldman, the fund supports our psychosocial team and helps arrange transportation, meals, medication and other essentials to families who qualify for assistance.
This unique week-long camp is designed to provide children and siblings aged seven to 17 with a positive group living experience. The Cedars-Sinai doctors and nurses who treat the children staff the camp. Youngsters benefit greatly by interacting with their caretakers in a friendly, carefree setting. Camp Rainbow is totally funded by the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Department and the Amie-Karen Cancer Fund for Children.
