Daily visiting hours and rules are established for the comfort and safety of your friend or loved one, as well as for other patients in the medical center. The staff welcomes visitors and realizes that they are integral to the patient's recovery. - Please limit your stay to 15-20 minutes.
- Maximum number of visitors in the room is two at a time.
- Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the patient's room, nor may they wait unattended in the waiting areas.
- A caregiver may interrupt your visit during some patient care routines.
- If you are ill, please do not visit.
- Father or designated support person may visit 24-hours with an identification bracelet provided by the hospital staff.
- Siblings of all ages may visit.
- All visitors, including children, must be healthy with no rashes, infections, colds, runny noses, diarrhea or recent exposure to infectious disease.
- Parents may visit at any time.
- Chair beds are available for parents who want to stay overnight in their child's room.
- Siblings may visit during visiting hours if they are older than 12.
- If you are ill, please do not visit.
- Two visitors in the room at any time, please.
- Children love presents, but please do not bring latex balloons (Mylar is okay), live plants or flowers. The parents or the nursing supervisor must approve gifts of food.
- Visitors are permitted 24 hours a day.
- One person at a time is allowed for five minutes every hour.
- Call from the lobby on the ICU phone before you come to the unit, to make sure you are not interrupting patient care procedures.
- Tea and coffee are available in the ICU waiting areas.
- Food is not allowed in the ICU waiting areas, however hospital and neighborhood dining is available.
- Volunteers in the waiting areas will take messages for you if you leave the waiting area.
- Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the patient's room, nor may they wait unattended in the waiting areas.
- Parents are encouraged to visit any time of the day, except from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. when the nursing shifts are changing.
- Visitors must be approved by the parents and accompanied by a parent.
- Grandparents may visit unaccompanied if approved by the parents.
- A maximum of two visitors at a time at the baby's bed.
- Parents and visitors must scrub their hands for three minutes and wear a cover gown over their clothes.
- Only parents, grandparents and siblings over age 12 may touch or hold the baby.
- Siblings who are three years or older may visit at the discretion of the baby's doctor or nurse. They must wear a mask and gown.
- Parents of visiting siblings must fill out an Infectious Disease Screening form and have it reviewed by the doctor on call prior to the visit.
- Parents and grandparents are encouraged to visit at any time, except from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. during doctors' rounds and when nursing shifts are changing.
- A maximum of two visitors at a time at the child's bed.
- Visitors may not stay in the unit if there is an emergency or special procedure for any of the children.
- Please respect patient privacy, do not wander around the unit or ask about the condition of any child.
- Children love presents, but please do not bring latex balloons (Mylar is okay), live plants or flowers. The parents or the nursing supervisor must approve gifts of food.
- Patients can make outgoing calls 24 hours a day.
- Patient phones are programmed to receive incoming calls between the hours of 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.
- Patients can request 24-hour incoming phone service or request to receive no calls at all by calling the hospital operator.
