

Denis A. Magoffin, PhD, is a research scientist for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of the Reproductive Endocrinology Research Laboratory at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Magoffin also serves as Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Los Angeles, (UCLA) School of Medicine and as Director of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center/California State University, Los Angeles, Affiliated Graduate Program.
Dr. Magoffin has been awarded investigative grants from the National Institutes of Health, American Society for Reproductive Medicine and pharmaceutical companies. His research interests involve the molecular biology of polycystic ovary syndrome, growth factor control of ovarian androgen biosynthesis and the mechanisms regulating early thecal differentiation.
Dr. Magoffin is a member of several professional organizations, including the Endocrine Society, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Society for Gynecologic Investigation and American Diabetes Association. He has written extensively for such peer-reviewed publications as the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, Human Reproduction and Endocrinology.
Dr. Magoffin received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He also completed his doctorate in physiology and pharmacology at UCSD.
