

Layne M. Kumetz, MD is an attending physician of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Kumetz's expertise includes birth control options, preconception counseling and optimal prenatal care for both low and high risk patients, abnormal pap smears, irregular bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, pelvic infections, pediatric and adolescent gynecology, fertility evaluations, minimally invasive surgery and preventative medical care.
Dr. Kumetz has published articles in various peer-reviewed journals including "Fertility and Sterility," "The Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology," the online journal "Medscape Ob/Gyn & Women's Health." She is a co-author in the latest gynecology textbook Clinical and Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. She has presented original research at the national level.
Dr. Kumetz received her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and her medical degree from the University of Michigan. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.
