

Paula Bernstein, MD, PhD is coordinator of the resident laparoscopic surgery teaching program of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Bernstein is also Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Dr. Bernstein's main clinical and research interests focus on advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for the treatment of fibroids, endometriosis, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts and abnormal bleeding. She also has a special interest in menopause, osteoporosis and hormone replacement therapy.
Dr. Bernstein has written articles for peer-reviewed publications, including The Journal of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy, the Journal of the American Chemical Society and Inorganic Chemistry. She has published two books on obstetrics and gynecology for the general public.
Dr. Bernstein received her bachelor's degree from Barnard College and her medical degree from the University of Miami, School of Medicine. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and did two postdoctoral fellowships, one in the Department of Biochemistry at UCLA and one at the California Institute of Technology. Dr. Bernstein is board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in obstetrics and gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
