

Michele M. Hakakha, MD is an attending physician of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Hakakha's main clinical interests include high-risk obstetrics as well as adolescent gynecology.
Dr. Hakakha has written numerous articles for peer-reviewed publications, including "Leukorrhea and Bacterial Vaginosis as In-Office Predictors of Cervical Infection in High-Risk Women", Obstetrics and Gynecology (2002). She is in the process of co-authoring a book with Dr. Ari Brown (pediatrician and author of "Baby 411" and "Toddler 411") on pregnancy.
Board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Hakakha's is a member of several professional associations. She is a Fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and American Medical Association. Her numerous honors and awards include being elected a member of the Alpha Omega Honor Medical Society. She has also received the Bruce Stern, M.D. Memorial Research Award, the Outstanding Resident Research Paper Award, the Po'okela No'eau Award Representing the Ideal Physician, the John M. Ohtani, M.D. Award for Outstanding Achievement in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the American Medical Women's Association Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Award for Academic Excellence.
Dr. Hakakha received her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her medical degree from the John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii. She completed her internship and obstetrics and gynecology residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
