
Miklos Peterfy, PhD is the Director of the Laboratory of Murine Models for Metabolic Disease at the Medical Genetics Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Peterfy also is an associate professor at the University of California, Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine.
Dr. Peterfy's research focuses on the genetics of metabolic diseases including obesity, type 2 diabetes and hyperlipidemia. He has written numerous articles on these and other subjects in peer-reviewed journals such as Nature Genetics, Journal of Biological Chemistry, Gene, Genomics, Mammalian Genome, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and Diabetes. Dr. Peterfy has lectured nationally and internationally on subjects related to the genetics of metabolic disease. He is a member of the American Diabetes Association.
Dr. Peterfy received his bachelor's degree from Budapest University of Technology in Hungary. He was a graduate student at the Biological Research Center of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and received his doctorate from Budapest University of Technology. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health.
