

Hanlin L. Wang, MD, PhD is Director of Gastrointestinal Pathology in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
An expert in carcinoma of the gastrointestinal tract and liver, Dr. Wang also has an interest in inflammatory bowel disease. He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers and many invited reviews and book chapters. His research interests include liver cell neoplasia and carcinoma of the colon, particularly the application of immunohistochemical staining.
Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, Dr. Wang is a reviewer for many scientific journals and grant agencies and has been invited to speak at meetings internationally.
Dr. Wang received his medical degree from Wuhan University, China and his doctorate from the Mayo Clinic/Foundation in Rochester, Minnesota. He fulfilled a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Tennessee and followed with an anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals, where he remained to complete a fellowship in gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology.
Prior to his appointment at Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Wang was an Associate Professor of Pathology and Immunology at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis. He was the recipient of the annual resident teaching award at Washington University.
