Bonnie L. Balzer, MD, PhD

Dermatopathology; Soft Tissue Pathology; Gynecologic Pathology

Bonnie L. Balzer, MD, PhD is an anatomic pathologist in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She is a specialist in dermatopathology, soft tissue pathology and gynecologic pathology

Dr. Balzer has authored many peer-reviewed scientific papers in the gynecologic and soft tissue pathology literature, and has presented several abstracts at national meetings. Board certified in anatomic pathology, Dr. Balzer has presented lectures in dermatopathology and participated in a national dermatopathology short course.

Dr. Balzer received her medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine, Palo Alto and her doctorate in chemistry from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. After finishing a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, Dr. Balzer completed her anatomic pathology residency at Stanford University. She also completed fellowships in surgical pathology at Stanford University, soft tissue pathology at Emory University in Atlanta, and dermatopathology at Weill Cornell Medical Center/Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York.
