Women's Guild of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center founded the Women's Guild Lung Institute to advance treatment and research for pulmonary diseases that affect the lives of more than 35 million people in the United States. Redefining Surgery
Cedars-Sinai is one of the few medical centers in the world offering minimally invasive surgery for lung cancer. With video-assisted thorascopic surgery (VATS), patients experience less discomfort, shorter hospital stays and faster recoveries than with traditional more invasive techniques. Our surgeons pioneered the video-assisted technique for lung volume reduction surgery, improving lung function and quality of life for emphysema patients.
Research Frontiers
