Retained Foreign Objects (RFO) remain a risk to patients nationwide. Cedars-Sinai has identified the elimination of Retained Foreign Objects in the operating room or procedural area as a high priority.

Decision Anticipated by July 1, 2007

Cedars-Sinai is in the final review process to select a proven clinical system that will encompass Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE), Electronic Medication Administration Record, Multidisciplinary Clinical Documentation, Pharmacy and Decision support. The timing for this process is on schedule, with a decision anticipated prior to July 1.

Bernice Coleman, RN, Ph.D., and an ACNP in Cardiac Transplantation, has been awarded the 2007 Maggie Stempson-Carter Excellence in Caring Award. This year, a total of 31 Cedars-Sinai nurses were nominated for the prestigious award.
