Time Is Running Out
NPI Compliance Must Be Met by May 23 Deadline

More than 800 physicians have not yet submitted their National Provider Identifier (NPI) to Cedars-Sinai, putting themselves at risk of administrative suspension from the medical staff on May 23, 2007.

Physicians who have not submitted their NPI will continue to get a pop-up reminder when they log onto Web/VS, stating that the medical center does not have a record of their NPI.

Once you have received your NPI, you can submit it to Cedars-Sinai using one of the three following ways. (Please note that when you are assigned your NPI, it does not come to the medical center automatically; you must submit it yourself):

  • While in Web/VS, click on User Profile. Enter your 10-digit NPI in the labeled box and click on Update My Profile. If the NPI number has been updated in the system, it will be displayed as part of the user profile.

  • Click here to write your 10-digit NPI on the attached PDF form and fax it to the Medical Staff Services Office at (310) 423-0448.

The Medical Staff Services Office will provide a free car wash to members who submit three (3) valid NPIs of physicians who have not turned in their number. Andrew Wachtel, M.D., receives the first free car wash for submitting his number along with the NPIs of his group.
