Medical and Surgical Approach to Spine Disease and Spine Deformity in Ankylosing Spondylitis

Delay in diagnosis of Ankylosing Spondylitis and incomplete management of its complications can result in disability, deformity, and death. This course will identify 1) the genetic predisposition and clinical signs of AS for an early diagnosis, 2) modern medical management of the AS patient, 3) the major clinical problem of spinal deformity and its treatment options, 4) surgical management of spinal trauma in the AS patient, and 5) how to identify and to manage the medical problems for the AS patient facing surgery.
