The Division of Pediatric Surgery provides general and thoracic surgical care to infants, children, and adolescents. The surgical services range from routine outpatient surgery to complex procedures on pediatric patients with unique congenital anomalies.

The multispecialty expert team of surgeons in the division have particular expertise in minimally invasive surgical procedures, both laparoscopy and thoracoscopy. The division has performed many first-time pediatric minimally invasive surgical procedures in Southern California.

Some of the specialized minimally invasive procedures include correction of chest wall deformity, esophageal atresia, duodenal atresia, malrotation, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, congenital lung malformation, gastroesophageal reflux disease, hiatal hernia, Hirschsprung's disease, imperforate anus, pyloric stenosis, appendicitis, gallbladder disease, and delayed gastric emptying.

The Division of Pediatric Surgery is staffed by full-time faculty pediatric surgeons who hold special certification in pediatric surgery by the American Board of Surgery. The faculty surgeons are readily available to all of our patients and their families and referring physicians for elective referral and emergency cases 24 hours a day, all year around.

The Division of Pediatric Surgery offers specialized surgical services for the full range of pediatric conditions in the areas of cardiac surgery,neurosurgery,orthopaedics,urology, otolaryngology, ophthalmology , and plastic surgery.

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center has a comprehensive program in pediatric subspecialities including pediatric critical care, neonatology,nephrology, gastroenterology, hematology, oncology, neurology, endocrinology, immunology, and infectious disease. All pediatric surgery anesthetics are provided by pediatric anesthesia fellowship trained anesthesiologists and the post surgical care given by pediatric nurses and staff in dedicated private pediatric patient units.
