Only Two Weeks Remain to Fulfill CME Requirement

Physicians with an active license before Jan. 1, 2002, only have two more weeks to complete the required 12 hours of continuing education credits on pain management and the treatment of terminally ill patients. The deadline is Dec. 31, 2006.

2007 MEC Secretary & Treasurer Announced

The MEC has elected the following physicians to the offices of secretary and treasurer for 2007:

• Keith Klein, M.D. -- Secretary (first term)
• Norman Schulman, M.D. -- Treasurer (second term)

Drug Shortages Update

Pharmacy has been able to obtain an approximately six-week supply of albuterol for the medical center. However, we are experiencing an acute shortage of cefoxitin, which is expected to continue for another six to eight weeks.

8SE and 6SW Undergo Remodeling

With its new low-rise nurse stations, 8SE has become an even more inviting environment for physicians, patients and their families.

Keith L. Black, M.D., who nearly 10 years ago brought his surgical skills and research interests to Cedars-Sinai, has been named chairperson of the medical center's newly established Department of Neurosurgery.
