Amin J. Mirhadi, MD

Radiation Oncologist

Amin J. Mirhadi, MD is a staff physician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with offices in the Outpatient Cancer Center at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute. Dr. Mirhadi's primary clinical and research interests include Spine and Lung Radiosurgery (Image-Guided), Gamma Knife Radiosurgery for brain tumors, and Focused Stereotactic ablation of Liver tumors. In addition, he is also a regular and active participant in the Saul and Joyce Brandman Breast Center Multidisciplinary Tumor Board, where he regularly evaluates and treats women with both early and advanced stage breast cancer.

Dr. Mirhadi is board certified by the American Board of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology. He is also a board member of the charity organization
Music for a Cure (www.musicforacure.org), which provides many music related gifts and therapies for children going through a difficult treatment process.

In his constantly evolving specialty, Dr. Mirhadi has decided to focus his research and departmental development efforts on Enhanced Localization Techniques, which is the unique sub-division of Radiation Oncology that allows for more precisely guided radiation therapy. Having the resources of a large academic facility at his disposal, and one of the finest Medical Physics departments in the western United States, he utilizes the latest technology to help provide the highest level of care available.

Dr. Mirhadi has several publications in many prestigious journals, and has also written three chapters for widely used textbooks. His most recent chapter, entitled
Recent Advances in Radiation Oncology in the Management of Lung Cancer will be published in the Textbook of Pulmonary Diseases in 2009. He has also been the keynote speaker for several Grand Rounds presentations, and is very active in community education and residency training.

Having completed his training at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center, and his Internship in General Surgery at the Santa Barbara Cottage Health System, Dr. Mirhadi joined our staff in 2006.
