Robert O. Ruder, MD

Pediatric Otolaryngologist

Robert O. Ruder, MD is an attending surgeon with Pediatric Surgical Services at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Ruder is also an assistant clinical professor in head and neck surgery/otolaryngology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center and a clinical instructor at the University of Southern California.

Dr. Ruder's primary clinical and research interests involve head and neck surgery, and plastic and reconstructive surgery. He has lectured and taught internationally regarding reconstruction of congenital anomalies of the face and has been published in several peer-reviewed publications including Surgery of the Ear, Pediatric Otology, Reconstructive Otoplasty, and Clinical Pediatrics.

Dr. Ruder is board certified by the American Board of Head and Neck Surgery and Otolaryngology. He is a member of the American Academy of Head and Neck Otolaryngology, American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Los Angeles Society of Otolaryngology, Centurions for Deafness and the Paul Ward Society. Dr. Ruder is the former chairman of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and former president of the Los Angeles Society of Head and Neck Surgery.

Dr. Ruder received his bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and his medical degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago. He completed an internship at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and residencies in general surgery and head and neck/otolaryngology at the University of California, San Francisco. He then completed his fellowship training by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
