The Family and Child Program in the Cedars-Sinai's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences offers a wide range of outpatient clinical services to help treat mental health disorders for children, adolescents and young adults. The program gives personalized attention to each child and family in a safe, supportive and confidential environment. The program's interdisciplinary team of specialists provides comprehensive evaluations, numerous treatment options and the highest quality care for:
- Early Childhood (birth to five years)
- Children (six to 13 years)
- Adolescents (14 to 17 years)
- Young adults (18 to 21 years)
- Foster care youth (newborn to 18 years)
Specialists at the Family and Child Program diagnose and treat all psychiatric of children. Disorders that are commonly seen include depression and mood disorders, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), anxiety disorders, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and developmental disorders (such as autism and learning disorders). Specialists evaluate these issues within the context of the family as a whole and determine treatment needs for the individual in their family support system. Experts review each patient's case and develop a treatment plan customized to that person's individual needs.

- Individual therapy using art, play, and dynamic and cognitive-behavior techniques

Programs include:
- Children and Adolescent Psychiatry Program serves children, adolescents and young adults 6 to 21 years who are experiencing emotional and behavioral problems, which impact their ability to function at school or within their family or community.
- Early Childhood Program identifies, assesses and treats problems, including delays in social and emotional development. This program also treats infants who are at risk due to trauma, stress, toxicity, genetic disorder and attachment issues.
- Emotion Regulation Program provides services to children betrween the ages of 6 and 17 who are having problems, compared to other children the same age, tolerating frustration, adapting to new situations or controlling their emotions.
- Psychopharmacology Program serves children to young adults 6 to 21 years with severe psychiatric disorders that have significantly impacted their development and family life. Specialists provide expert consultation on complex and psychopharmacology cases that have not responded to first, second and sometimes third treatment attempts with medication.
- The Socialization Group is designed to help school-aged children manage their emotions, communicate effectively and interact in a more positive way with their peers and family.
