Telemedicine

When a doctor and a patient are too far away from vital medical equipment, they may have to face a medical challenge without life-saving knowledge.

Telemedicine at Cedars-Sinai solves this.

Our doctors use live, interactive video to talk to doctors in far away places. They send information and data from radiographs, electrocardiograms, angiograms and other sources to us electronically. We then offer options or even examine the patient using advanced communication links.

We belong to a group of American medical centers that uses the Internet to give second opinions. Doctors in South and Central America, Asia, the Middle East and Europe can scan patient records onto a private web site. Our doctors look at the data and offer advice. This advice goes to the doctor at home, within a day or two, using these electronic links.
